Cops & Robbers
Welcome to Cops and Robbers!
Cops and Robbers is a new ORG created by Deetster, and being tested for the first time on this cast! Cops and Robbers is a hybrid of Pirate Master, Big Brother, and Survivor!
In the realm of Cops and Robbers both have one thing in mind. Money. One chooses the route of good, and one the route of bad. In order to succeed in Cops and Robbers, participants will have to find ways to manipulate the good and appease the bad in order to slowly but surely gain their own income and remain in the game. One will likely have to become a Cop or a Robber at some point in the game in order to make the decisions themselves!
The money you will be competing for in cops and robbers are gems. Each contestant will begin the game with ONE gem. Let's play a quick game of Cops and Robbers with the Final 7 of Survivor: Tocantins:
Sierra- 1
Debbie- 1
Coach- 1
Taj - 1
Erinn- 1
Stephen- 1
J.T.- 1
At this point everyone is equal. The first competition of any round is the Cop Competition. The Cop has the ability to protect themselves and two contestants from the Robber, and will be paid a wage of 2 gems to be distributed in anyway they wish. The cop also has the option to simply get their wage, and quit being a cop.
For now we will say J.T. won the cop challenge. JT decides to protect himself, Steven, and Taj from being robbed by the Robber, and keeps both gems of his wage for himself:
Sierra- 1
Debbie- 1
Coach- 1
Taj - 1 (Protected)
Erinn- 1
Stephen- 1 (Protected)
J.T.- 3 (Protected)
After the Town Hall Meeting where J.T. decides this, the Robber Competition will be played. The Robber of the round will have the ability to rob any player of half their gems ROUNDED DOWN. That means if a player had 1 gem, the Robber cannot steal anything, if a contestant had 2 gems he could get 1, and if a contestant had 5 gems he could get 2. The Robber can alternatively decide to spawn a gem from the vault.
Let's have Debbie win this first Robber competition. The Robber will post in the "Illegal Act" thread what their action choice for the round is. Debbie realizes that the only person she can get gems from, J.T., is protected, thus she spawns a gem from the vault.
Sierra- 1
Debbie- 2 (Robber)
Coach- 1
Taj - 1 (Protected)
Erinn- 1
Stephen- 1 (Protected)
J.T.- 3 (Protected/Cop)
Now we will move onto the Execution Chambers. The society of Cops and Robbers decides who is good and bad ultimately by one merit. Wealth. Every round one player must be executed, and that player will be chosen among those with the least wealth. As you can see, J.T. and Debbie have 3 and 2 gems respectively. Because they are not the least wealthy of the remaining contestants they CANNOT be voted out this round. That means the other 5 only holding 1 gem are up for elimination. The contestants will vote much like in Survivor. One ballot cast for the vulnerable player of their choice.
Sierra- 1 - Taj
Debbie- 2 - Taj
Coach- 1 - Taj
Taj - 1 - Coach
Erinn- 1 - Sierra
Stephen- 1 - Coach
J.T.- 3 - Coach
The vote is a tie. 3-3-1. When there is a tie, that is that, and there is NO revote. Immediately the two deadlocked (or however many deadlocked) contestants are put at the mercy of the Cop. THE COP WILL ALWAYS IMMEDIATELY DECIDE THE OUTCOME OF TIE BREAKERS UNLESS THE ROBBER HAS MORE GEMS THAN THE COP, THEN THE ROBBER WILL MAKE THE DELIBERATION.
As is obvious, J.T. doesn't have less gems than the Robber Debbie. J.T. decides to take out Taj for whatever reason, and out she goes!
Sierra- 1
Debbie- 2
Coach- 1
Erinn- 1
Stephen- 1
J.T.- 3
The last catch is before Taj leaves, she has one job to do. With 1 gem still in her possession, she has the right to give her gems wherever she pleases. Taj will give one gem to Stephen before departing.
Sierra- 1
Debbie- 2
Coach- 1
Erinn- 1
Stephen- 2
J.T.- 3
Let's continue to play this game out...
Sierra wins the next Cop Competition. She gives 1 gem to herself and 1 gem to Coach. She also decides to protect herself, Debbie, and Coach.
Sierra- 2 (Protected/Cop)
Debbie- 2 (Protected)
Coach- 2 (Protected)
Erinn- 1
Stephen- 2
J.T.- 3
Erinn wins the Robber Competition. Realizing that if she spawns a gem from the vault, she will still remain vulnerable with 4 others, and if she steals from J.T, everyone will simply have 2 gems and she can still go, Erinn decides to make a power play and steals 1 of Stephens gems.
Sierra- 2 (Protected/Cop)
Debbie- 2 (Protected)
Coach- 2 (Protected)
Erinn- 2 (Robber)
Stephen- 1 (Thieved)
J.T.- 3
At the Execution Chambers only one person is vulnerable: Stephen. When this occurs, everyone has no choice but to vote Stephen off, and just like that, Stephen is automatically out. Cops & Robbers often times will be about checkmating competitors out of the game, so one would be wise to play a very social game, and win competitions when possible.
Sierra- 2 (Protected/Cop)
Debbie- 2 (Protected)
Coach- 2 (Protected)
Erinn- 2 (Robber)
J.T.- 3
Stephen will give his one gem to J.T.
Sierra- 2
Debbie- 2
Coach- 2
Erinn- 2
J.T.- 4
Once again Sierra wins the Cop Competition. Realizing that everyone can now be robbed, and not wanting to call attention to any alliances, Sierra decides to quit as a cop, and keep her wages to herself.
Sierra- 4
Debbie- 2
Coach- 2
Erinn- 2
J.T.- 4
Debbie pulls out the Robber Competition and decides in the Illegal Act #3 ceremony to steal the 2 gems from Sierra. Debbie knows she could easily steal a gem from anyone else except J.T. and force them out, but Debbie WANTS Sierra to leave, and wants two gems to work with over 1 so instead opts to make her vulnerable. Debbie also wants to protect Coach, so gives him one of the stolen gems, and keeps the other stolen gem for herself.
Sierra- 2 (Thieved)
Debbie- 3 (Robber)
Coach- 3
Erinn- 2
J.T.- 4
Now Sierra and Erinn are the only two vulnerable people after Debbie wisely decided to split the two gems she stole amongst herself and ally Coach, guarenteeing they both have more gems than the two ladies.
Sierra- 2 - Erinn(Thieved)
Debbie- 3 - Sierra(Robber)
Coach- 3 - Sierra
Erinn- 2 -Sierra
J.T.- 4 - Erinn
Sierra is eliminated in a 3-2 vote. It should be noted had their been a tie somehow, even if Sierra had more gems than Debbie BECAUSE SIERRA IS NO LONGER A COP AFTER QUITTING, Debbie would break the tie regardless, as the Robber in a Copless round. She also had more gems than Sierra so would have been able to make the decision if Sierra didn't relinquish her title and there were a tie.
Debbie- 3
Coach- 3
Erinn- 2
J.T.- 4
Sierra decides to give one gem to J.T. and one gem to Erinn.
Debbie- 3
Coach- 3
Erinn- 3
J.T.- 5
Coach wins the Cop Competition. Coach knows he wants Erinn out, so gives himself and Debbie one gem each from his wage, and protects everyone but Erinn to guarentee she cannot rob 2 gems from anyone.
Debbie- 4 (Protected)
Coach- 4 (Cop/Protected)
Erinn- 3
J.T.- 5 (Protected)
J.T wins the Robber Competition. J.T. doesn't want Erinn to go, seeing her as a weaker player than Coach. In a strong move, J.T. decides rather than to rob his only choice, Erinn, he instead will spawn a gem from the vault as Debbie did in the first round, and will give this spawned gem to Erinn.
Debbie- 4 (Protected)
Coach- 4 (Cop/Protected)
Erinn- 4
J.T.- 5 (Protected/Robber)
As I mentioned before, this game will often times come down to using social connections and competition wins to checkmate your opponents. Debbie and Coach now find themselves being vulnerable with Erinn who they thought they checkmated out.
Debbie- 4 - Erinn (Protected)
Coach- 4 - Erinn (Cop/Protected)
Erinn- 4 - Coach
J.T.- 5 - Coach (Robber/Protected)
J.T. may only be the Robber for this round, but because he has more gems than the Cop, Coach, he breaks the tie, and decides to get rid of Coach.
Coach decides to give his 4 gems to Debbie.
Debbie- 8
Erinn- 4
J.T.- 5
Debbie fights hard in the Cop Competition. Debbie knows if she can win the Cop Competition, she simply needs to protect herself and the only two choices left and will not be able to get eliminated from the game this round. Unfortunately for Debbie, J.T wins. J.T and Erinn promise eachother they will work toward taking out Debbie so J.T decides to keep the option of eliminating Debbie open by not protecting anyone. That way the option of robbing Debbie is still open. And thus, the game moves onward with no Cop. J.T. takes all the gems for himself though.
Debbie- 8
Erinn- 4
J.T.- 7
Erinn pulls out the Robber Competition. Erinn knows J.T. is her biggest threat in the end game. She decides to steal from him rather than Debbie to get rid of her bigger threat.
Debbie- 8
Erinn- 7 (Robber)
J.T.- 4 (Thieved)
J.T is slightly angry at Erinn for her choice, but also understands it strategically. He decides to however act in bitterness and give his 4 gems to Debbie.
Debbie- 12
Erinn- 7
Debbie knows if she wins the Cop Competition she can protect herself and Erinn from Robbery, and guarentee that she enters the jury phase with a gem advantage. Erinn wants instead to not have anyone protected to allow her to rob Debbie if she can pull the next competition out. Debbie wins the competition and decides to keep the two gems for herself, and protects herself and Erinn.
Debbie- 14 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 7 (Protected)
Debbie did feel she needed an extra advantage for the jury stage, but also felt that it wasn't worth risking Erinn stealing almost half of her gems, to have the oppertunity to steal almost half of Erinns gems. Erinn pulls out the Robber Competition. In the Illegal Acts #6 Ceremony Erinn makes the only choice she can make and takes a gem from the vault, and naturally gives it to herself.
Debbie- 14 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 8 (Protected/Robber)
After the round of playing between the final two, Erinn isn't instantly eliminated. Now the jury comes in. The last 5 players eliminated (Which will be 7 in actual gameplay), will return to distribute 3 gems (Which will be 6 in actual gameplay), amongst the final 2. At the end whoever has the most gems will be crowned the winner of Cops & Robbers. This will be done in a secret ballot.
Taj- 3
Stephen- 3
Sierra- 3
Coach- 3
J.T.- 3
Debbie- 14 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 8 (Protected/Robber)
Taj gives her 3 gems to Erinn, bitter at the belief Debbie had voted her out of the game
Debbie- 14 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 11 (Protected/Robber)
Stephen respected Erinns move of robbing him, but still felt slightly angry by the move. He decides to give 2 gems to Erinn, and one to Debbie.
Debbie- 15 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 13 (Protected/Robber)
Sierra really disliked Debbie, and decides to give all 3 of her gems to Erinn.
Debbie- 15 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 16 (Protected/Robber)
Coach loved Debbie, and decides to give his three gems to her.
Debbie- 18 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 16 (Protected/Robber)
J.T still feels bitter toward Erinn for her move, but still doesn't want to completely destroy her. He decides to give one gem to Erinn, and two to Debbie.
Debbie- 20 (Protected/Cop)
Erinn- 17 (Protected/Robber)
Debbie is officially the holder of more gems after the jury distribution. Erinn is eliminated in the execution. Debbie wins the game!
Debbie- 37 (WINNER)
As you saw in this playout, winning Cops & Robbers is about playing the odds, great timing, socializing, playing competitions well, and really outwitting all your opponents. Cops & Robbers is a game really meant to keep you on your toes, and I assure you if a game can get this heated mocked with seven Tocantins players, this will be a hectic game with 12+ individuals.
So you in?
